It doesn’t matter how old you are – your oral health is important. You need a dentist at every stage in life, and it’s best if you start the habit when you’re young. So if you have children, bring them to our family dentist at Calgary’s Forest Lawn Dental Centre. We’ll help them feel comfortable and relaxed in a caring environment.
When should you bring your child to the dentist?
You should bring your child to the dentist within six months of seeing his or her first tooth. At the very latest, you should start bringing your child in for regular checkups by his or her first birthday.
After the initial visit, you should bring your child in for a checkup every six months. Your child will have the benefit of regular cleanings and fluoride treatments to prevent cavities, so he or she will have a cavity-free mouth for years to come.
What happens during the first visit?
During the first visit, our friendly staff will introduce your child to the sights and sounds of the dentist office. This helps your child stay calm and relaxed during the visit.
Our family dentist in Calgary will also check your child’s mouth to make sure it’s developing correctly and will inquire about thumb sucking and teething to track your child’s oral development.
What if there’s an emergency?
Childhood is a time of adventure with sports and other activities. Accidents happen, and when they do, we’ll be here to help. If you or your children have an accident, give us a call at 403-248-7778. We can provide emergency services for patients of all ages. Set up an appointment today!
