Affordable Dentistry in SE Calgary | Forest Lawn Dental Centre
Are you dealing with a badly damaged or decayed tooth? Would you like to change the appearance of your tooth for aesthetic reasons? A dental crown in Calgary may be right for you! At Forest Lawn Dental Centre, we offer various options when it comes to tooth restorations. In many cases, a dental filling will be enough to repair decay. In other cases, where damage or decay affect a larger portion of your tooth, a crown may be necessary. Dr. Sandhu and his team will give you a comprehensive evaluation and discuss the options available to you. We believe in open communication with all patients and encourage your questions.
How Does the Process Work?
A crown, or cap, is essentially an artificial tooth that is used to cover the remaining part of your natural tooth. To make room for the crown, we will remove decay and file down the natural tooth as needed. In many cases, a root canal may be needed as part of the process. An impression of your prepared tooth and the surrounding teeth is taken. The impression is then used to make your new crown, which is carefully fabricated to ensure a proper bite. Your bite will be tested and adjustments can be made as needed.
Keep in mind, this is a fairly common procedure and you will be under local anesthetic as your natural tooth is repaired and shaped. If you have questions, we always take the time to answer them before beginning any procedure.
